Sydney Mitchell

Sydney Mitchell is the Student-Athlete of the Week after helping EIU extend its program-record win streak to 11 with victories at SIU Edwardsville and Southeast Missouri State. The freshman provided energy and offensive production off the bench, scoring in double figures in both games. She scored 11 points at SIUE and a career-high 12 points at SEMO. She finished the road trip 7-of-13 from the field and 9-of-10 at the free throw line.

Through 9 games Sydney is averageing 14 minutes a game, .455 Field Goal Percentage and 4.3 points a game off the bench for Eastern Illinois [8-1] of the Ohio Valley Conference.

I went to see Stephens & Kim’s [Mitchell] daughter play in her last home game yesterday. It was senior night.

They won their game 55-36 against New Whiteland.  Sydney had 20 points and 10 reboumdsI took about 30 pictures but not too many came out. I’ve posted them at Google [click the graphic below]. Most of them are unedited so someone with some skill might be able to fix some of the flaws such as red eye, blurrs, etc. If this link doesn’t work email me and I’ll send you a more direct link. gdl
